Taylor Lautner's wife, Tay Lautner, is not taking any chances when it comes to her privacy these days. The catalyst? A paparazzi incident at her 2022 wedding that left her in tears. Appearing on Matt and Abby Howard's "Unplanned Podcast" on June 17, Tay shared how a photographer with a long lens managed to capture and leak intimate wedding moments. "I think I was just a little scarred cuz our wedding, there was someone that had a really long lens camera and took photos of our first look and posted them the day after our wedding," she lamented, adding, "I know. I cried. It was rough."
“That was not a fun thing for me, mainly cuz that was the first time it really felt like an invasion of privacy for me," Tay expressed. "But our wedding, that like really just felt icky. It just did not feel good."
The couple, who met five years prior at a game night hosted by the "Twilight" star, tied the knot in what should have been a private affair. However, the unexpected breach has led Tay to guard her personal life more fiercely, especially now that she is halfway through her first pregnancy.
With the memory of her wedding invasion fresh in her mind, Tay Lautner has opted to keep pregnancy details on a need-to-know basis. The registered nurse and mental health advocate revealed that she is "more than happy" to discuss her feelings and experiences but remains wary of sharing specifics about her unborn child. "Every time, after this, every time I open my mouth, an article pops up," she said, emphasizing her desire to protect both herself and her baby from intrusive media coverage.
Tay's pregnancy journey has been fraught with concerns over public speculation. She confessed to feeling nervous during visits to her obstetrician-gynecologist, fearing that her growing bump and accompanying husband would spark questions. "Definitely, every time I would like go to my OB's office or go to an urgent care or something, I definitely would get nervous," she admitted.
She also shared struggles with emetophobia – a fear of vomiting – which led her to gain weight quickly during her first trimester. "So, I had put on weight, and you could like guess, I was like, my family was like not surprised I was pregnant because like you could tell because I had gained weight," she revealed, worried that this might lead to premature speculation about her pregnancy.
