Priyanka Chopra Jonas, the dazzling star who has gracefully danced between Bollywood's vibrant colors and Hollywood's glitzy allure, is peeling back the curtain on what sets these iconic film industries apart. Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Priyanka unveils the unique tempos and practices she’s experienced first-hand. "In America, we are very specific about when we shoot what and how. You have to make the day on most productions, and you have a shot breakdown of how many shots you have to take. So there's a lot more stress in making sure that you make the day," Priyanka disclosed, highlighting the high-stakes precision on U.S. sets.
Meanwhile, Priyanka notes that the Bollywood scene moves at a more leisurely pace, allowing for creativity to flourish amidst the hustle. "On Indian films, it's a little bit more languid. If we don't make the day, it's fine. We'll get it tomorrow," she explains, shedding light on the flexibility that permits multiple projects to unfold simultaneously. "We'll also shoot one set piece, and then we'll take a break for 10 or 20 days. Then we'll come back for the next set piece," she adds, painting a vivid picture of the relaxed yet productive Bollywood workspace.
Despite the stark contrasts, Priyanka cherishes the unwavering love from her fans worldwide, especially from India. The actress, married to pop sensation Nick Jonas, reflects on her career trajectory and the support she's received. "I have really been blessed with incredible supporters and well-wishers when it comes to audiences who’ve liked my movies over the last 25 years. They have also supported me in very dark times," she shares, emphasizing the profound connection she maintains with her audience. With a career studded with accolades, including a National Award and a Padma Shri, Priyanka remains grateful for the encouragement that guides her through tough decisions, ensuring her heart stays connected to her roots while she navigates global fame.
