Ken Wharfe, once the vigilant protector of Princess Diana, has emerged from the shadows to voice his thoughts on Prince Andrew's ongoing scandal. Known for his SAS training and tenure at Scotland Yard, Wharfe served as Diana's personal protection officer from 1988 until 1993. Now, he's revealing some less-than-flattering opinions about the former Duke of York, whom he labels as "arrogant" among the aristocracy.
“I did, on a few occasions, have dealings with him in a professional capacity and I found him to be one of the most arrogant individuals I've ever had the misfortune of meeting.”
Prince Andrew found himself at the center of controversy again last month following an 11-hour interrogation by Thames Valley Police. This dramatic turn came after American authorities released a trove of Jeffrey Epstein-related documents. These files allegedly show Andrew forwarding sensitive information from his official trips to Southeast Asia to Epstein, all while holding a prestigious trade envoy position.
Appearing on the Suddenly Single podcast, Wharfe took a firm stance on the matter, describing the situation as "excruciatingly toxic" for the Royal Family. "Ever since the Epstein crisis hit, I've taken a personal stand," he stated, shedding light on the ongoing turmoil surrounding Prince Andrew, now going by Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, and his alleged ties to the Epstein saga.
Wharfe pointed out that the scandal's ripple effects have also drawn Andrew's former wife, Sarah Ferguson, into the narrative. Recent disclosures from the Epstein files included emails purportedly from Ferguson, seeking financial help from Epstein in 2009. Ferguson, who parted ways with Andrew in 1996, still resided with him at Windsor's Royal Lodge until recently.
Currently, Andrew resides on the Sandringham Estate at Wood Farm, a property supported privately by royal funding, pending renovations at Marsh Farm. While being mentioned in Epstein's files doesn't imply guilt, Andrew has steadfastly denied all allegations linking him to the disgraced financier.
