Comedian Nikki Glaser is making her comeback as the host of the 2026 Golden Globe Awards, and she’s bringing her fearless humor with her. Set to take the stage once again at the prestigious ceremony, Glaser has vowed to let no celebrity escape her comedic crosshairs. "I’m writing from a place of love, and I wouldn’t do a joke about someone that I actually didn’t like," she assures.
Glaser, who proudly became the first solo female host of the Globes last year, opened up about her comedic game plan ahead of the glamorous event. "I was even thinking, like, ‘Oh, I’ll leave plus ones alone, they don’t deserve it,’” Glaser quipped. “But I feel like that’s fair … Everyone is fair game. I really feel that way.”
Despite her reputation for daring roasts, Glaser is careful not to cross the line. "I’m testing my monologue in comedy clubs around Los Angeles," she revealed, emphasizing her commitment to ensuring her jokes are well-received without "ruin[ing] anyone’s night."
The comedian shared that she’s spent considerable time fine-tuning her jokes, particularly for stars she admires. Reflecting on jokes about actress Julia Roberts, Glaser confessed, “You cannot make fun of America’s Sweetheart. So, whatever I end up saying about her, that is the most fine‑tuned joke that I’ve worked on so hard, because it is very delicate.”
The event, set to take place at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, promises a night of entertainment, with Glaser’s mix of bold jabs and insightful humor setting the tone. As she puts it, “People at home want you to make fun of the A‑listers.”
As Glaser navigates the delicate balance between humor and respect, audiences can anticipate a night filled with laughter and light-heartedness when the Golden Globes air live on CBS and stream on Paramount+ on Sunday, January 11.
