When whispers about Dolly Parton’s health started swirling, fans everywhere feared the beloved country queen might be stepping back from the spotlight. But thanks to her goddaughter, Miley Cyrus, we're getting the real scoop – and it’s as hopeful as ever. Cyrus recently chatted with Entertainment Tonight, putting everyone's mind at ease by declaring that Dolly’s still got that fire in her belly.
“She’s always gonna keep the show going," Cyrus confidently stated, adding, "The show must go on. She’s just excited to get back to work.”
Parton herself, at 79, was recently seen in an upbeat Instagram video, wishing her fans a happy Thanksgiving. This came shortly after she postponed her Las Vegas residency due to some medical procedures. But Dolly wasn't about to let anyone worry too much about her health.
Doctors might have told her she needed some "procedures" – but leave it to Dolly to keep it light with a joke about her "100,000-mile check-up." Despite these hiccups, she assured everyone that it wouldn’t stop her from putting on the show her fans deserve.
Even as family concerns arose, with her sister Freida mentioning prayers on Facebook, Dolly was quick to laugh off the rumors with a spirited video saying, “I ain’t dead yet!” Her brief pause from music was partly due to her personal loss earlier in the summer – the passing of her husband Carl Dean after nearly six decades of marriage.
Yet, in true Dolly fashion, she isn't done creating. "I’ll write something else, though, if it comes," she promises, showing us all that she's just as lively and creative as ever.
