Katie Price just can't seem to steer clear of driving bans, can she? The former glamour model has once again found herself off the roads, marking a whopping seventh driving disqualification. This time, a Ford Capri registered under her name was caught zipping at 80mph near the quaint village of Stutton on the A64 in North Yorkshire.
Police promptly reached out to Katie at her West Sussex residence, asking her to confirm if she was indeed behind the wheel. But the silence on her end has now cost her – a six-month driving ban coupled with a substantial £1,000 legal bill.
“You appear to think you are above the law," District Judge Amanda Kelly once remarked during a previous court session.
Price, who's now 47, has accumulated over six years' worth of driving bans since her first disqualification in 2010. The pattern is nothing new – she faced a six-month ban in December 2010, a year-long one in 2012, and yet another in 2018. Her run-ins with the law continued into 2019 when she drove while disqualified and allegedly with a mysterious man at the wheel during a separate incident.
The courtroom hasn't been her only battleground. Price's financial woes have also kept her busy – bankruptcies in both 2019 and 2024, although discharged, still haunt her as she grapples with a court order on her debts till 2027.
Katie's latest legal hiccup emerged following a round of secretive court proceedings under the Single Justice Procedure. The Harrogate Magistrates’ Court found her guilty of failing to respond to police inquiries, leading to a £660 fine, £120 costs, and a £264 victim surcharge.
Interestingly, the speeding charge itself was dropped, but the mystery lingers over whether Price was given any chance to contest the new driving ban. The court documents remain tight-lipped about the details – whether her infamous driving record was considered or if she had incurred penalty points remains unknown. But one thing's for sure, Price's driving dilemmas are far from over.
