John Wick Goes Digital: Gaming World Awaits

John Wick is back with a bang, but this time, he's not hitting the big screens. Instead, he's diving into the thrilling realm of video games. Saber Interactive, the powerhouse behind the much-anticipated Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, has unveiled a brand-new, high-budget John Wick video game that's set to electrify fans around the globe.

What to Expect

This adrenaline-fueled project is slated as a mature audience, third-person action game. Get ready to experience the iconic "gun-fu" action on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The game promises to be more than just a shooting fest – it aims to capture the film's signature fight choreography, immersive storytelling, and the deep, gritty essence of John Wick's world.

“We are collaborating closely with Saber’s dedicated team to develop a game that captures the unparalleled action, brand-defining fight choreography, immersive world-building, and authenticity of the films,” said Jenefer Brown, president of Global Products & Experiences at Lionsgate.

The Power Players Behind the Game

Saber CEO Matthew Karch couldn't contain his excitement, stating, “John Wick is one of the most iconic characters in action film history. Saber is honored to be working alongside Chad, Keanu, and the Lionsgate team in a true collaboration to bring the world of Wick to life in a AAA game.” With such a stellar team onboard, expectations are sky-high.

The original John Wick movie, released in 2014, was a surprise hit, transforming Keanu Reeves's career and catapulting directors Chad Stahelski and David Leitch into the Hollywood spotlight. Known for its unique blend of martial arts and firearms, the franchise's signature "gun-fu" style remains unmatched, and fans are eager to see how it's translated into a gaming experience.

More Than Just a Game

Lionsgate's John Wick franchise has already expanded beyond films, with a TV spinoff, The Continental, and the spinoff movie, Ballerina. Despite John Wick's untimely demise in Chapter 4, a fifth movie installment is already in the pipeline, with Reeves and Stahelski hinting at untold stories waiting in the wings. With the films grossing over $1 billion, this upcoming game is poised to capture both gamers’ and moviegoers’ imaginations.

Announced during the Sony State of Play Showcase, the game's trailer already has fans buzzing. Stay tuned – the world of John Wick is about to get even more explosive!
