Jamie-Lynn Sigler, best known for her iconic role in 'The Sopranos,' is spilling the tea on why she swapped the glitz of Hollywood for the laid-back vibe of Texas. In a no-holds-barred chat with Us Weekly, the 44-year-old actress revealed that she and her husband decided to make the big move from Los Angeles to Austin back in 2021.

“We needed a change. When I moved here, I started using a cane once in a while because I didn’t feel like I was being watched,” she shared. “Here, it was like, ‘I’m just Beau and Jack’s mom at the baseball field.'”

A New Chapter and Personal Revelations

Sigler and her husband, Cutter Dykstra, who tied the knot in a star-studded affair in January 2016, are parents to two sons, Beau and Jack. Her move coincides with a deeply personal revelation – Sigler was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) right before filming the fourth season of "The Sopranos" when she was just 20.

In reflecting on her time keeping this diagnosis under wraps, Sigler confessed, “I was always acting. I had no idea what authenticity felt like. Everything was a lie and for show. I didn’t even know who I was.”

Finding Strength in Community

Fast forward a few years, and Sigler has channeled her experience into a podcast, "MeSsy," alongside fellow actress Christina Applegate, who herself revealed an MS diagnosis in 2021. Sigler told People in a candid moment, “We have each other and that’s helped us so much.”

Sigler is now preparing to launch her memoir, "And So It Is....: A Memoir of Acceptance and Hope," slated for release in May 2026. The book promises to take readers on an intimate journey through her life as a child actress, her role as a mother, and the challenges of living with MS.

As Sigler steps into the next chapter of her life, she credits Applegate’s openness about MS as a driving force behind her own decision to finally pen her memoir, sharing her story the world.
