Neil Diamond's wife of 13 years, Katie McNeil, recently opened up about the secret to their happy marriage. At the New York premiere of "Song Sung Blue," a musical biopic featuring Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson, Katie shared rare insights into their relationship. "We're best friends, and we really support each other," she said. "We lift each other up, and through thick and thin, through sickness and health, we really live it. And I think that's the secret."

“It's our 14th wedding anniversary coming up in April,” Katie noted with a smile, adding that they celebrate each day as special.

Their Beginnings in Romance

This music industry power couple first crossed paths in 2007. Neil, 84, met Katie when she began working with his manager, Irving Azoff. A fan of Neil's iconic hits, Katie soon found herself managing Neil's account. Within a year, sparks flew, and they began a secret romance.

Katie recalled to Parade in 2012 how she initially hesitated, saying, "Part of me said, 'Don't get involved; he's a client.' But our chemistry grew into something undeniable." She joked with her mom about the age gap, eventually realizing she was in love.

A Low-Key Wedding and Family

Neil and Katie tied the knot in April 2012 with a low-key ceremony in Los Angeles, following their engagement announcement on Twitter in September 2011. After their marriage, Katie embraced her role as a stepmother to Neil's four children from previous marriages.

Reflecting on his past, Neil mused about his previous marriages, "Both are spectacular women, and I felt if I couldn't make something wonderful and lifelong happen with them, then maybe I wasn't capable of it. I've finally found someone who is up to the task of being my wife."
