Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds have announced their latest venture – fronting a Disney+ documentary series that’s sure to make waves! The series will track SailGP's Australian team, a project that marks their first collaboration since their roles in Deadpool & Wolverine. The duo bought the team just last year, and now they’re sharing their journey with fans worldwide.
Set to showcase thrilling catamaran races that reach speeds of up to 100km/h, the docuseries offers an exclusive peek behind the scenes of this adrenaline-fueled sport. Disney+ promises that viewers will be treated to the heart-pounding action of close-to-shore courses, coupled with the camaraderie and humor that only Ryan and Hugh can deliver.
“This is our first collaboration since Deadpool & Wolverine and we once again anticipate action, comedy, heart but with a lot more water. And (fingers crossed) pirates. We hope there’s pirates in SailGP.”
The series, which will be available internationally on Disney+ and Hulu in the U.S., is a joint production between Maximum Effort, Eureka Productions, SailGP, and the BONDS Flying Roos team. Rob McElhenney, known for his work with Ryan on *Welcome To Wrexham*, lends his talent as an executive producer. The actor has notably taken Wrexham AFC to new heights alongside Reynolds, and fans can expect a similar level of dedication and passion in this new project.
Eric Schrier, president of direct-to-consumer international originals and strategic programming, expressed enthusiasm, “Following Ryan, Hugh and the SailGP’s BONDS Flying Roos Australian team’s journey gives us a remarkable inside view of this thrilling sport and what it takes to compete at the highest level.”
This adventurous dive into the world of high-speed sailing marks yet another exciting chapter in Jackman and Reynolds' dynamic partnership. Stay tuned – it looks like smooth sailing ahead!
