When Netflix first introduced us to Enola Holmes, she was the bright and untested sister of the legendary Sherlock. Now in her third outing, Enola is stepping into the spotlight as a seasoned sleuth, ready to tackle both mysteries and matrimony. Millie Bobby Brown reprises her role, bringing a confident and mature Enola to life as she prepares to wed the dashing Lord Tewkesbury, played by Louis Partridge. But in true Holmes fashion, the path to the altar is anything but smooth.

A Sticky Situation

As Enola gets ready for her Maltese wedding, her brother Sherlock, portrayed by the ever-imposing Henry Cavill, suddenly disappears. Not long after, Tewkesbury's mother, Lady Tewkesbury, is also kidnapped. Enola finds herself in a race against time to solve these kidnappings. With the help of Dr. Watson, played by Himesh Patel, she dives into a conspiracy that has Moriarty’s signature all over it. Enola’s motto rings true:

Brown dazzles with a mix of determination and humor, her growth in the role evident. Meanwhile, Cavill’s sporadic appearances keep Sherlock’s presence felt, and Helena Bonham Carter returns with her signature flair as the Holmes matriarch, Eudoria. Despite some slower segments, including romantic interludes that could belong in a YA novel, the film redeems itself with a bold anti-colonialist message that enriches its escapist allure.
