Bradley Cooper's Mission: From Hollywood to Heartfelt Advocacy

Bradley Cooper, adored globally for his blockbuster roles in "Wedding Crashers," "The Hangover," and "Silver Linings Playbook," is once again in the limelight – this time, off-screen. Cooper is passionately leveraging his celebrity clout to advocate for a cause close to his heart: caregiving. Fueled by personal experiences caring for his late father during a battle with cancer, Cooper founded the nonprofit One Family Foundation in 2013. The foundation, originally cancer-focused, has since widened its lens to shine a spotlight on the broader challenges faced by family caregivers.

In October 2025, the One Family Foundation unveiled its flagship initiative, Care Out Loud. A clever blend of media and entertainment, the program aims to raise awareness around the often silent struggles of family caregivers. Whether it's tending to aging parents, caring for relatives battling illness, or supporting children with disabilities, the initiative underscores the diverse and significant roles caregivers play.

“Everyone said that no one is talking about caregiving,” shares Annelise Barron, executive director of One Family Foundation. “Caregiving needs a publicist and an awareness campaign that people will pay attention to.”

The PSA That Took the World by Storm

To launch Care Out Loud, the foundation released a satirical PSA featuring Yvette Nicole Brown, known for her role as Shirley Bennett on "Community." Playing humorously on the miraculous capabilities of the fictional CareMaster 5000, Brown wittily declares, “The new model even cures depression, burnout, and guilt!” Her punchline – "If it sounds too good to be true, it is" – underscores the real, often overwhelming demands of caregiving.

The response was massive. Garnering $11.8 million in donated ad value and reaching 248 million people globally, the PSA became a viral hit on 345 media outlets. Cooper's involvement extends beyond this campaign. He served as an executive producer for the documentary "Caregiving," which dives into the life of caregivers and premiered on PBS in June 2025.

Navigating the Caregiving Conundrum

But the journey doesn’t stop at raising awareness. The One Family Foundation offers tangible support through its website, which features vetted resources, practical tips, and "Cheat Sheets" – quick guides to help caregivers navigate their roles. “You can Google ‘caregiving’ and get 200 million hits. It’s hard to know what’s trustworthy and up to date," Barron explains, emphasizing the need for reliable, accessible information.

While Care Out Loud benefits from financial support from brands like CareScout, P&G, and Next50, its efforts are primarily fueled by the dedication of Cooper and a community eager to make caregiving a recognized and supported endeavor.
