Amy Dowden, the much-loved Welsh dancer who has been dazzling audiences on Strictly Come Dancing since 2017, is hinting at a possible new chapter in her career. Known for her partnerships with celebrities like Brian Conley and Tom Fletcher, Amy recently revealed that fans might see "a very different" side of her if she steps into a judging role on the hit BBC show. After her courageous battle with cancer and overcoming other health challenges, Amy feels more ready than ever to take on new roles in the dance world.

“At the moment the judging panel [Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke] is perfect and I love them deeply. But obviously nothing lasts forever and in the future, I would love to see myself on there,” Amy shared with Best Magazine.

Overcoming Challenges and Setting New Goals

The 35-year-old dancer opened up about her aspirations and how her experiences have shaped her. Amy mentioned that she is "a very different person" when it comes to judging and is currently involved in judging competitions across the UK. She emphasized the importance of making fair decisions, which she takes very seriously, ensuring that she can "go to bed and sleep at night, knowing I made the right choice." Despite her judging ambitions, Amy is committed to staying part of the Strictly family, cherishing her connection with the show.

Amy's Resilient Return to the Dance Floor

Amy's journey has been a testament to resilience. After facing a breast cancer diagnosis, chemotherapy, and a mastectomy, she was in remission by February. However, another setback hit when she fractured her foot and collapsed backstage. Yet, she returned stronger, teamed up with Thomas Skinner, though they were the first to be voted out. Now, she feels "stronger and happier" and is thrilled to be part of Strictly for her tenth year. Joining her are professionals like Julian Caillon, Neil Jones, and Vito Coppola. As the new series unfolds, Amy is poised to bring her signature sparkle and determination back to the beloved dance floor.
