AMC Global Media's Bold New Ventures

AMC Global Media is shaking up the entertainment world with a sizzling slate of new shows and exciting developments. During their first upfront presentation under the AMC Global Media banner in New York's hip Tribeca neighborhood, the media giant announced the much-anticipated 'Bannerman' series and the 'Point Break' TV adaptation set to debut in 2027. This move signals AMC's bold direction and commitment to engaging storytelling.

The event brought together a veritable who's who of advertisers, media buyers, and stars, all eager to get a taste of AMC's latest offerings. Among the highlights is 'Thunder Road' – a riveting drama starring Dennis Quaid set against the thrilling backdrop of NASCAR. The series promises to be a hit with its adrenaline-pumping storyline and charismatic characters.

“They all service the three primary pillars of an AMC show: a character you can put on a poster, a unique world, and resonant themes,” explained Dan McDermott, AMC's Chief Content Officer.

Spy Thrills and Cult Classics

But the action doesn't stop there. Fans of spy thrillers will be thrilled to hear about the 'Bannerman' series based on John Maxim's bestselling novels. With Shane Black on board as director and Craig Silverstein as creator and showrunner, this series promises to deliver gripping suspense and intriguing character dynamics.

The much-loved 'Point Break' is also making its way into the television scene. With production set in Australia, fans are eagerly awaiting its 2027 debut. "We’re pushing really fast on Point Break," McDermott shared, highlighting the fast-paced development and exciting production plans.

Beyond the Screen: AMC's Strategic Moves

AMC is not just about shows – it's about creating an all-encompassing viewing experience. From launching an AMC+ app for Meta Quest headsets to enhancing partnerships with the iconic Sphere in Las Vegas, AMC is redefining how audiences engage with content. Further, their sports docuseries 'Rise of the Saints' and the wrestling rights acquisition are part of AMC's strategic push into sports storytelling.

The upcoming event at New York's Beacon Theater, featuring a live performance by Sam Reid as Lestat, will be a special treat for fans. As AMC Global Media CMO Kim Granito puts it, "This entire campaign is a give back to the fans. We’re doing it for them.” It's clear that AMC Global Media is not just expanding its portfolio – it's redefining entertainment for a global audience.
